When a student migrates to another city or a state for pursuing higher education finding a suitable accommodation located near the institute and offers basic amenities is a primary concern. On campus housing have a limited capacity & hence students prefer a PG i.e. “Paying Guest” accommodations where in a lot of compromise is to be done in terms of living conditions & PG’s come with a strict set of restrictions: lack of quality food, internet connectivity & personal space.
An invitation to all designers to design an innovative Student Community Living in India. A Student Community Living concept is something we are trying to achieve through this design brief. A community where a student has a range of li5ving options to choose from, as per his/her requirements, an accommodation that comes loaded with complimentary facilities such as fitness centers, laundry services, air conditioners, food courts, play grounds, gardens & much more, a community which respects individuality but at the same time is very flexible such that it blurs the threshold between indoors & outdoors and a community that is not only aesthetically pleasing but is also functional, sustainable & fulfills the physical & psychological needs of students.
The challenge is to design a quality an innovative student housing in India for 140 student occupants having following unit types with all individual & shared amenities:
- 20 Studio units
- 20 Double occupancy units
- 20 Four student sharing units
