ASCER launches in 2021 the 20th edition of the Tile of Spain Awards. The Tile of Spain Awards are intended to promote the use of Spanish ceramic tiles in architecture as well as interior design projects (both in Spain and abroad). The competition for the Prizes is held annually and is open to projects and professionals in Spain and worldwide. Entries must make significant use of Spanish ceramic floor and/or wall tiles in the formal part of the building.
- Architecture: New builds, renovations/refurbishments, the refurbishment of existing façades, work carried out as part of an outdoor urban redevelopment or landscape project. In the formal part of the project, submitted entries in the architecture category must use ceramic wall and/or floor coverings by Spanish companies from the following types of products represented by ASCER: porcelain tiles, glazed stoneware tiles or slimline ceramic sheets.
- Interior Design: Projects in the interiors of new builds or refurbished/renovated spaces, and pop-up environmental or art installations. In the formal part of the project, submitted entries in the interior design category must use ceramic wall and/or floor coverings by Spanish companies from the following types of products represented by ASCER: ceramic tiles, porcelain tiles, glazed stoneware tiles, rustic stoneware tiles, terracotta tiles, slimline ceramic sheets, baldosín catalán type tiles, ceramic mosaics, and glass mosaics.
- Final Degree Project: The competition is open to any Final Degree Project from Spanish Universities or international universities with comparable studies. Students can submit final degree projects presented during the 2019-2020 or 2020-2021 academic year, before 28th October 2021. Projects entered for the competition must make substantial use of ceramic floor and/or wall tiles in the project. All the drawings do not necessarily have to match those submitted to the corresponding School of Architecture. Designs can be therefore improved following submission for the final degree project and prior to entry in the competition.

The projects must have been completed between January 2019 and October 2021 and must be submitted to the Tile of Spain Awards for the first time.
